Hi all,
Apologies for the delay in coming back to you all, but we have eventually managed to sort out an alternative venue in a little (hopefully) warmer weather on the weekend of May 20th-22nd 2022 which is a little later than normal. We have looked at numerous 40 bedroom plus hotels throughout the North West between Wrightinton & Keswick but have really struggled to find the ideal place on an ideal weekend and it basically came down to two hotels and one whilst located in a wonderful position was rather tired for the prices plus at over 100 miles from home was not ideal for organising touring rally's etc.
The chosen venue is further North than previous but still in Lancashire in the seaside resort of Morecambe at the Midland Hotel which sits all alone prominently positioned on the front overlooking the South Lakes peninsula. This hotel features in the TV series 'The Bay' and also in an upcoming Disney production. It is an early 20th century design with an Art Deco feel to it, quite quirky, a little different to what we're used to but with lovely views and very comfortable decor. It is also dog friendly too and very popular with classic car clubs. We have managed to secure over 90% of the rooms so we will require to act relatively quickly to confirm our bookings as set out below.
The tariffs which have increased from the earlier event as we move towards the summer are as follows-
The Midland Hotel Morecambe
Friday 20th May 2022 x 2 nights
12 x Classic NON sea view double occupancy rooms
4 x Classic NON sea view twin occupancy rooms
15 x Classic SEA VIEW double occupancy rooms
6 x Classic SEA VIEW twin occupancy rooms
3 x Feature double occupancy rooms
2 x Luxury double occupancy rooms
84 guests
The feature and luxury room types have been added to the reservation (bedrooms on the top floor) which are at additional rates
So rates are as follows:
£85.00 per person per night for double/twin occupancy in a classic non sea view
£105.00 per person per night for double/twin occupancy in a classic sea view room
£295.00 per room per night for double occupancy in a feature room
£395.00 per room per night for double occupancy in a luxury room
The above rates are based on two people sharing and inclusive of bed and breakfast, service and VAT
£115.00 per person per night for double/twin occupancy in a classic non sea view
£135.00 per person per night for double/twin occupancy in a classic sea view room
£355.00 per room per night for double occupancy in a feature room
£455.00 per room per night for double occupancy in a luxury room
The above rates are based on two people sharing and inclusive of dinner, bed and breakfast, service and VAT
If some sole occupancy rooms are required then a sole occupancy supplement would apply on the non-sea view and sea view classic rooms, please note the feature and luxury rooms rates are per room whether 1 or 2 people.
Members are requested to contact the hotel directly to book then and would need to quote reference 1284319, the hotel have advised that bookings are made between 18th October and 15th December 2021. The Group sales office is open Monday – Friday 9-5pm. Phone number 0333 220 3109.
It will be on a first come first served basis for room types and the hotel would request £100.00 per room non-refundable deposit then the balance settled on arrival.
The hotel being very popular has advised that they will review the number of bedrooms sold on 15th December, and if some are not taken will then release 25% of the unsold bedrooms to the public then review again on the 10th January then any remaining unsold bedrooms would be released.
They have reserved the Eric Gill, Eric Gill Sun Terrace and Oliver Hill function rooms for us for the Gala dinner on Saturday evening.
We believe from previous feedback that this is a better solution to the previous hotel's March date and look forward to seeing you & catching up with you all in May.
We are hoping to get this advert placed in the October edition of VL! if we have not missed the deadline.
Happy Lancia Motoring to everyone!
Kind regards,
Paul & Claire.

A Lancia Gamma was at the Midland for the Coast to Coast earlier this year.
I can certainly vouch for the Midland as an excellent hotel and the food was great too.

Hi all,
To date 18No of the 40No+ rooms allocated to us have been taken.
It's accepted and totally understandable that due to current happenings with the pandemic that there is a reluctance for some members (particularly those overseas) to book and that's why numbers are not as high at this stage as normally expected, but at the same time we now stand to lose a proportion of the rooms offered.
As agreed with the hotel at the time, December 15th was the first milestone for letting rooms go and they have therefore offered 15% of the remaining untaken rooms for general sale.
The next milestone is January 10th when all remaining untaken rooms will be offered on general sale to the public.
This post is just a gentle reminder that if anyone is considering booking the GNW then please get in touch with the hotel to avoid any disappointment. Please remember that if the event is cancelled due to Covid 19 or other unforeseen circumstance you will receive a full refund of your deposit.
Thank you & a Happy Christmas to all.
Paul.

Booked two rooms!
-
We've booked a second room as my wife will come too!
We may come with Fulvia and Thema 8.32 (new addition)
or... as Natalie is learning to drive our Citroen 2CV we may be flying a french flag.
But we'll be there :-)

Hi all,
The Midland Hotel have informed me that all remaining rooms for the GNW weekend have now been put on general sale as was the agreement when we visited last September. I don't know exactly how many rooms we have secured to date (have requested numbers from the hotel) but please if you are considering booking for this wonderful event in truly super accommodation, don't leave it too late or you may end up being disappointed as this is a very popular venue and the remaining rooms will fill up quickly.
Obviously we are in unfamiliar times with the pandemic and some people are naturally still worried particularly those from overseas who have different rules to our own, but it's nearly three years since the last GNW so please do try to get booked- if it gets cancelled due to Covid you will receive a full refund- to enjoy a little bit of unfamiliar super driving roads in wonderful surroundings with lovely like minded people.
Thanks & keep safe.

When I made my room booking on the 18th October 2021, I was asked to phone them this week to book a table if we wanted to eat in their restaurant on the Friday 20th May, which I have just done. I thought I would share this with you due to our previous experiences during these Covid times that Hotels struggle with staff shortages so the more warning they receive of demand, the more prepared they can be by drafting in enough staff.
-
Thanks to all who attended and/or participated in this event- Hope you all arrived home safely or to your onward destinations.
After two years in the wilderness I think everyone really enjoyed it and the Hotel was a fantastic choice and the staff really looked after us.
If anyone has any photos- particularly of the evening meal (Gala dinner), please could you pass on to me by Email as I would like to get some photo's/summary in VL as even though it's one of the traditional LMC annual events (since '86) it rarely gets much coverage in the magazine or the website post event. Cheers.

Thanks Paul and Claire for a brilliant weekend. As you say, probably the best venue I have visited for an LMC event. Sorry, no pictures of the meal. We must have been enjoying ourselves too much.......
