Hi Folks,
I've started the complete interior strip of my 72 Fulvia S2 1600HF Coupe & after removing the carpets I'm pleased to say I haven't come across a great deal of rust, although there a few minor patches in the passenger footwell. Can anyone recommend a product to treat the rust before I repaint all of the interior metal surfaces?
Regards,
Martyn.

If it's not structural, rust converters seem to be the accepted way to go.
Hydrate-80 works well, with Dinitrol being a popular overcoat for underbody.

After mechanically removing as much rust as possible I use Kurust which can be directly painted over (not the gel because having to wash off a newly rustproofed piece of metal seems counter intuitive). I then base coat with a zinc primer as a belt and braces approach before colour coating. My Y10 lives outdoors all year round and after five years there's no sign of rust coming through again. I know more technical products are available but decent results seem to be achievable with off the shelf products from Halfords.
