The 2025 GNW is most likely to be on the weekend of 25-27/04/25 in the Lake District.
Claire and I have been driving up to the Lakes & scouring Hotels over the last few weekends to find a suitable venue (40 -70 room size), great facilities, secure parking in lovely locations, but prices for next year have risen dramatically across the board since we last organized the Midland in Morecambe in 2022 and what we paid in Kelso in 2023 & Ripon in 2024.
We have a number of venue's in mind and we want it to be special, but a serious question here is, how much are folk realistically willing to pay for 2 nights B&B plus a Gala dinner?

Had a weekend in the Lakes a few months ago and stayed at the Ro Hotel in Bowness. Worth a look I'd say. Good car park!
Hardknott and Wrynose anyone?

Thanks for the response, the Ro was considered along with umpteen others.
Wrynose & Hardnott pass was covered in the last Lakes GNW the last time we organised the NW section back in 2017, a different route is planned this time.

Hi Paul
The quote that I didn't go ahead with for this year from Coniston Hall was £650 per double room Friday and Saturday DB&B. If you can use this as a ceiling for 2025 maybe that would work? I was budgeting for £500 max.
Neil
PS; as mentioned before, some tome after I had turned down the above quote, the hotel came back suggesting a deal, but I had booked Ripon by then.

Hi Neil,
I think we are on the verge of a great deal with an absolutely fabulous hotel, just awaiting confirmation. Watch this space.

Its not really the price but perceived value. I bet you will get it right. Prices are going up all over the place.....
