Title: Advice on oil change
Post by: MPP37 on 30 May, 2025, 03:22:53 PM
Good afternoon!

I hope you will forgive a silly question, but can anyone kindly point me in the right direction of an 'idiots guide' to doing an engine oil change where there's an Auto Klean filter in situ?

I'm not looking to strip the Auto Klean just yet, but would like to do a simple oil refresh just to keep me going. I wasn't sure if there were any special tricks involved in doing the job.

Many thanks for your help.

Marcus

Marcus,
Oil change straight forward: Drain oil from the sump first. Then drain the AutoKleen filter by removing the hexagonal nut at the bottom. Some early models have the nut on the side.
No need to strip the filter. A warm engine helps.
