Title: Flaminia Oil filter
Post by: robupton on 08 August, 2025, 12:18:39 AM
I am having trouble locating an oil filter for the Flaminia. according to their web site the WIX 51193 should fit  but its a couple of mm too large to go past the rubber gasket. This ID is 72.25 mm. US Lancia Spares is now sending me a no name filter which is 70 m and should be fine. He sources this in Italy but thinks its a UK  manufactured item. It looks the same as my old one with a perforated metal outer cover.
Is this design superior to the pleated type?
Does anyone know what this might be and where they would be available? I shall be in the UK shortly and would like to take a couple back if they are decent quality.
Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks.
Robert

My 1960 Flaminia Touring GT takes a Wix 51183. I found that the only way to install it was to put the rubber gasket on the car first and then slowly screw the casing up to the gasket. When I tried to put the rubber on the casing first, the filter seemed too wide and it wouldn't work. Not sure why.
