Title: Aurelia battery covers
Post by: chriswgawne on 09 August, 2025, 03:59:52 PM
I have a couple of original Aurelia  crackle black painted pressed steel battery covers with riveted insulation material on the underside, one of which I intended to fit to my 1951  B21S. However neither fit! I also have a 4 sided 'top frame' battery clamp which doesn't fit tidily either. And an assortment of different length hooked clamping threaded studs with brass or mild steel  thumbscrews .

Does anyone happen to know what the original set up was for an earlyish Series 1 Aurelia Sedan?

Hi Chris,

First photo is from the early B10/21 U&M book (5th Edition, August 1952) and I think corresponds to what I have in my B10 (which IIRC came from a B21 Ron and I imported for parts from Austria).

Other photos are of mine. Internal dimensions (from below) are 315 x 182 mm.

Thanks William,
I think I have a couple of those covers in pretty good condition with the insulation on the underside. Maybe my problem is with the length of the clamping studs. I will have a closer look in a couple of weeks and report back.
