I'm in the process of trying to mount a Brantz wheel sensor to send a signal to a Brantz rally timer and am struggling to find a suitable location for the sensor. Brantz recommend picking up on the disc brake mounting bolts, it will need to be on the rear wheel disc but their location within the rear handbrake drum makes this virtually impossible.
Has anybody mounted a wheel sensor and if so, can you give a few pointers?

I use a gear box pick off on one car and a speedo take off. I see Brantz are out of stock of the gearbox sensor....

I don't want a gearbox sensor due to the lower level of accuracy they provide. Taking a feed of a non-driven wheel is a much better option, hence the wheel sensors. I had a chat with Brantz today and I believe I may have a solution.

I had an Irish rally car in recently and it had a brantz pick up on the rear brake disk. As it was S1 I think there were 4 visible bolts or some such - my photos dont really show exactly.
My Brantz speedo drive sensor is good to 1 part in 300 from my experience. It never wrong slotted unless navigator error! I wonder if when pushing on and the rear wheel cocks going round the corner that would give an error reading as with hand brake turns...

Ha ha, maybe. ;D
Apart from the accuracy I also like the idea of being able to get at it easily if there's an issue. I've managed to solve the mounting problem with a simple bracket off the calliper bolt and some external metal sensors on the outside circumference of the handbrake drum. It's all tucked up out of harm's way, we'll see how it performs in anger in due course...
