Perhaps you could use one of our old Cotswold Economy Drive routes, we begin in Broadway, have used the train and take in all the small villages.
-
Thanks Peter, I have a good idea of the routes for next year but would welcome your input, just in case there is a better route. Ade.

Let me know, will be pleased to help.

Hi Ade, I've been on one SPR and would dearly love to attend, but the dates are (again) too early. :(
What are the drivers for having the SPR on the first weekend in June?
Thanks.
-
Guy, the main reason for choice of date is not to clash with other events in the Classic car world, next year is a week earlier than I would have liked, but the hotel was booked for the date I originally wanted. Ade.
-
Ade, I understand that there's a full motoring calendar, but the SPR seems to be getting earlier and earlier, and I'm left wondering if I'll ever be able to get on another one... :'(
-
Ade
Pls put my name down on your mailing list as will want to go - first time...
Does it need to go in the LMC calendar?
Tim Heath
-
Tim, I will put your name on the list, brochures will be sent out early next year. Yes you can put the date on the calendar.

" This year being the 80th anniversary of the Augusta we hope to have a good turn out of this model!"
And so I thought but when putting together the model anniversary schedule (which I published in Dec 2011 VL) I was persauded that the real launch date of the Augusta was a year later so 80th is next year. I don't mind 'cept no body commented on the schedule what so ever!!!

Great weekend. Good company, great cars, excellent choice of car tour and attractions. Tower and fountain particularly impressive.
Well done to Ade and Sarah for a seemless and enjoyable time in the Cotswolds. And for sorting the weather (well not the journey days :'( but you can't have everything).
OVS ran faultlessly apart from breaking a window winder, the speedo breaking and the dynamo brushes deciding to stick and stop charging. Fixed the dynamo during the weekend, and will fix the other 2 in next few days.
Roll on 2014!!
Thanks
Tim and Sarah

Our congratulations and thanks to Ade and Sarah for a wonderful weekend, and especially to Louis for his 'Car Park Attendant' duties
allowing him the privilege of being able to park his own vehicle at the front door of many of the places visited!!
Many thanks again.

Cracking weekend, thoroughly enjoyed, ade thats a sneaky photo! i feel almost naked in it OVERALLS instead of my famous TROUSERS!! chugga performed flawlessly accept for loosig the linings off the ns rear brake shoes, quick fix with a self tapping screw up the brake pipe to block off the hydrolics to that brake and did another 200 miles on 3 brakes, old cars are great, fix it at the side of the road with the most primative tools, did you get any pics of it in bits in the hotel?? i forgot to take some as i was a little preoccupied trying to fix it, well done for organising a great event , fantastic hotel and places to visit
-
Thanks again to Ade and Sarah for an excellent SPR this year. An excellent attendance - as always the SPR attracts a wonderful variety of great Lancias, and a good selection of interesting places to visit. And - for what is a very popular part of England - some great roads with very little traffic! A very enjoyable weekend
-
Yes, it was a splendid rally, as usual. A good turn-out of Augustas on their 80th. anniversary, but a shame a few notable ones were missing. I was particularly sorry not to be able to admire Chugga's efforts.

Superb weekend in the Cotswolds, many thanks Ade et al. What a superb club LMC is made up of wonderful cars and equally splendid people. It was so good to meet up with old friends and to make new ones. Doug and Kathleen Crowther used to visit the farm where we are now living for Bentley and Ferrari gatherings and Ben Courage, I discovered ,went to the same junior school as I did. Small world eh!?
Modestine was only readied for the rally at 3pm on the Friday afternoon (see details in the Dilambda section) and ran perfectly until just before Sunday lunch when the ignition system packed up altogether. Many thanks to Reg Maybury (Rachel nee Wilcock's husband)who towed us to the lunch stop assisted by James Parry. I then took a huge amount of stick for converting the distributor to electronic ignition which precluded any hope of repair and resulted in our homeward journey being courtesy of AA Recovery. On the bright side we saved about £60 worth of petrol!
Returned the distributor to the guy who carried out the conversion to find that the module had indeed failed which he replace under warranty. I am totally unrepentant for the doing the conversion having enjoyed perfect starting, smooth running and lovely tick over since. However, I will now be carrying a spare module, coil and a set of refurbished points!
Here's to next year in Belgium,
Robin.
