I still have one that is available. After that we will all have to start using beam deflectors I think.

Spares required / Y!0 RHD Headlamps
« Last post by nyssa7 on 25 May, 2026, 09:28:30 PM »
I’ve been asked by someone if I can lay my hands on a pair of RHD headlamps for a Y10 series 1 or 2?

I have 4 x nearside lights and no offside lights

Anyone have a pair, or an offside lamp they wish to sell? Doesn’t matter about the indicator lenses as it’s to swap onto a LHD car driven in the UK

Thanks

Frank, it is much nicer to use than a digital meter !

Some things are quicker than you expect, others slower - today's job fell into the latter !

Connecting up the choke and slow running levers. Out came the bicycle box again and new piano-wire cables were made up and threaded through the bulkhead. My late S2 has the Weber carb and I cannot see how you could use the second "pulley" on the bulkhead bracket, and there was already a hole through the bulkhead that lines up with the lever

Using this, I made up an outer cable that I clamped to the shroud above your knees and threaded a 1.2mm piano wire through to the carb. Looks neat and works well

PS the pull switch is for the electric fuel pump

Does anyone have photos of how else to do the choke cable on a Weber ???

As an aside, again because this is a later car with a 0-1-2 switch and foot pedal to change the lights, here are the operating instructions in English. It is obviously quite different to earlier cars with the 0-1-2-3 switch

That looks like a lovely old test meter, thoroughly in keeping with the car.

Lambda / Re: Oil filter

I am not sure an Accusump works with older style engines where the oil pressure is dynamic i.e increases with revs, where as a more modern engine such as the Lampredi Beta engine the oil pressure is pretty much static at above tick over revs. I would be interested in views on this.

Getting exciting ..... starting to test circuits

Fitted the foot pedal for switching the lights and the dynamo light before fitting selected fuses and then testing the circuit to see if does what it should. Hopefully a bit more tomorrow

Finally gratuitous nudge for the Aprilia floor pans that I had remade (at huge expense) so if you want any, please let me know

Good news - the Lambda fits in the garage underneath the Aprilia !!! A few things need to be moved around to allow easy access, but she fits ....

Attended a local car show today, largely because our neighbour's 15yr old was desperate for a ride

Lovely Mercedes 170S next door. I was surprised to see that it was a 1950 car - Spoke to a friend who is v knowledgable about MB and he said "  They were pre-War cars but when production resumed post-War it was the only model they could manufacture given the devastation to the factories. Manufacture was 1931 - 1955"

Pre-war Traction Cabrio at the back as well
