Flaminia PF Coupe electric window conversion
« on: 02 August, 2025, 04:01:16 PM »
I am considering converting the manual windows in my PF Coupe to electric actuation. Does anyone have experience with this? Several companies offer electric conversion kits - notably Ricambio International Ltd (Wallington, South London) and AutoLoc. The latter says their kit permits the use of the redundant window winder as the electric switch.

As mentioned in a previous post, the driver's window regulator ceased to function, and although I have been able to source a regulator in Italy, it is not quite identical and would require some butchery to make it work, so I am thinking of changing to electric actuation, which would be more convenient, anyway.

This is something I have looked at but put on hold for the moment. My approach would be to find a suitable cable type motor from a production car - one with cable exits similar to the hand wind mechanisms, like these Honda ones. These would be mounted where the original mechanism sits and new cables made to suit. A fair bit of fiddling no doubt, but I feel the result should be worth it. The switch here is from a BMW E9 and looks similar to the ducellier ones used by Lancia, so could be mounted in the same position in the door trim. The BMW ones (Bosch) are available new. The Ducellier ones are definitely not.
