Fitting aluminium doors.
« on: 30 March, 2026, 08:38:55 PM »
I've just fitted some early series 1 doors to my series 3 Fulvia and to make them shut correctly I had to relieve the mounting point for the striker plate on the B pillar. I had to elongate the holes on each B pillar by the same amount (approx 15mm) and it made me wonder if the series 1 cars had different striker plates?
Apart from the slight issue with the striker plate the doors fit really well. They have production numbers stamped onto the inner skin; one is No.70 and the other is No.211, they came off two entirely different cars and so the numbers won't bear any relationship to one another but I was curious if they mean anything. See pic of No. 70 and the stamping on the inner skin
You're all entitled to my opinion.
