Misbehaving Headlights
« on: 02 December, 2016, 02:23:47 AM »
HI Fulvisti, as an introduction, I'm a new member based in Auckland, New Zealand. I have a S2 Coupe just restored (also Alfa Spider 105 so a foot in both camps!) trying to iron out a few problems post-restoration. On occasions, when the car has been driven the headlights come on when the ignition is turned off. They then need to be switched on & then off. The car was partly re-wired after resto but never tested by the electrician. The headlights also work without the key being on or in accessory position. Any pointers on what to look for? It does occur randomly as well.

Many thanks in advance.

The lights should come on even if the ignition is off. If the turn on intermittently during driving, this is due to a poor earth connection. First, check that the metal ring fixing the light switch to the steering column is really very tight. Andrea
