Some of the gas hoses on our '72 Fulvia Sport 1.6 appear to degrading. I do not know how old they are. The small hose coming out of the intake union (for lack of the precise term) on the rear Solex C 42 DDHF was frayed and leaking gas. I cut the hose back to where it was solid and put it back on. It works fine. However, I have decided this is the time to replace all of the flexible gas hoses on the vehicle as a precaution.
My question is, were the original flexible gas hoses on the Fulvias cloth covered? I would like it to look original, but the other consideration I have is occasionally I have to use gasoline which contains ethanol which has its own issues when it comes to not being friendly to old hoses. Any recommendations for a good quality gas hose for the Fulvia? Preferably hose material that is available in the US.
