Securing Appia hub caps
« on: 27 January, 2026, 09:34:41 PM »
I am Aprilia owner. The chromium hub caps of this model are held on by three tabs on the wheels, and to say that this is unreliable would be an understatement, so I am looking for a more secure method.  How are the hubcaps held to the Appia wheels? Does the Appia also suffer from flying hubcaps? Many thanks, Peter

Hi Peter
My S1 car has rubber 'buttons' fastened to the wheel which are set on springy steel so when new they would be quite effective even now after 73 years some of the hubcaps can be quite difficult to remove but some of them just fall off as the buttons have disintegrated and the springs have lost their tension. Later cars have lugs the hub caps are pushed over.
