Belna handbook and parts book

I recently came across this rare book here in France and was going to do a photocopy for another LMC member, however if there is enough interest I could do it in .pdf and send copies on disk. But I would need to get someone to scan it for me as my scanner is a bit klonky

There would obviously be a small charge for disks and the time taken for someone to scan it, plus post .... but let me know if there is any interest. The more interest, the cheaper it would be for everyone

Couple of nice touches - marbled inner covers and explanation of how to order parts ,with what degree of urgency !

"Trabea  = rapid, Trinium slowly" etc

Plus ,picking up on another thread,  I can't see any parts/numbers for door locks

Hi, I'm rather late to this thread (!) but I'm wondering if anything came of copying the book please?  I'm new to the world of Augustas & Belnas and I've just purchased a Belna (running) restoration project and I'm trying to get hold of basic model information and a few parts as it is missing a few bits and pieces. Any help or advice will be really appreciated.   I'm currently reading the 'Augusta Progress' thread with great interest! Thanks, David

There wasn't any interest at the time so I never did it ! However, there is an excellent "Revue Technique" that is available in French. It has most of the parts diagrams plus a variety of "how to's"

I haven't translated it yet, I'm still wading through the Ardennes translation ....

I do have spare copies if of interest because I buy them when they come up for sale here in France

Not sure - but in LMC journal of September 1972 is an translation by Andrew Maclagen entitled Conseils Pratiques which I would bet was the same Belna advice. I have copied it many times over the years and keep a copy in the car!!  I do have it on my computer so could send as an attachment if anybody wants it.

Had 5 mins to look at old LMC Journals and it is indeed the translation of the RTA.

If anyone knows of the equivalent Aprilia/Ardennes translation it will save me a job - although I am half way through it already !

Hi, I am the new owner of a 1935 Belna and would absoultly love a PDF copy of the handbook. Later this year, I will be overhauling the pillar suspension and will need all the help I can get. Did you buy the Belna that was at the H&H Duxford sale?

There are instructions available for disassembling and assembling the sliding pillars, including drawings. They might be available from the Lancia Motor Club, if not, come back to me.

Hi Kari and Sliding pillar. Yes I did buy the Belna at the HH auction, it joins my 1929 Jowett Long four and replaces an 1935 Armstrong Siddeley 20hp. I am loving the Belna, it needed a few things sorted before I was comfortable to drive it any distance. I am hoping it will get me to the National Rally early on Sunday Morning. (I will be bringing a bottle of Dot4 with me, just in case). I purchased the complete download of the Belna parts manual from LMC and it has been a great help. I hope to start making contacts on Sunday and learn who and how to get information and parts. The first thing will be to decide if work on the sliding pillars is needed. (I suspect they are worn) then decide how to set about it.  I am quite prepared to machine up and harden new bushes if needed, but would prefer not to. Cheers Daniel
