It looks like there should be a bush as well as a clip on that linkage.

It is fun when bits go missing in the gear linkage. I lost a bush from one of the fore and aft rods from the gear lever once on a journey. First gear could be found somewhere deep in the passenger footwell and fourth wanted to occupy the same space as my kidneys!

Hmmm I thought the same about a bush and possibly a washer but the workshop manual diagram does not show anything except the wire clip. Other news is the Y10 had a few laps of the carpark but was backfiring slightly and the accelerator jet was not playing ball again. Another issue was the driver side headlamp was full (exaggeration!) of water...well a little bit was sloshing around the bottom and the inside had condensation on. The solution was to take the bulb out and shove some kitchen towel in and leave the bulb out and the bonnet up in the sun, problem solved. After it's 3 laps the Y10 was given a new parking slot next to a Jaguar soft top that consensus says has not moved for 5 years, talk about little and large...

A little issue has arisen with the Y10 as it appears to be filling up with water in the drivers side headlamp. I managed to get some of the water out earlier in the week and parked the car facing south but I noticed yesterday the headlamp was soaked again on the inside...any suggestions?

I've used "seek-n-seal" around the edge joint of the glass n the past. I could probably do to apply some again as one of my headlights tends to mist up in wet weather.
