Augusta window winder and door opening levers
« on: 04 January, 2021, 04:16:21 PM »
I am showing both my senility and IT incompetence here.
I THOUGHT I saw a post a week or so ago about a member wanting the above items. I knew I had one/some but have only just gone out and checked and I have some of each. They all are showing a lack of useage as the alloy winders are slightly powdery and none have the dropping handle and the door opening lever tops need rechroming. That was the the senility - I guess it may have been Fulvia and about widgets. The IT incompetence is that I cannot find the original post.
So: if indeed there is somebody out there wanting the Augusta bits then let me know and I will send the best of the 3-4 I have of each.
Best New Year wishes to all
Brian
PS whilst out in garage and running cars I was reminded that the ammeter needle on my 6V Augusta hardly moves at any time in any direction. Could it be a 12V one (an old Lucas) thus being nffp [not fit for purpose]? Do I just go and buy a 6V replacement? Ideas please.

Hi Brian

Normally an ammeter is independent of voltage, it should just measure current flow in a wire regardless of what voltage you are running on the car. Modern units may use a different technique and be powered, but not in pre semiconductor times as far I was aware.

Hi Brian

The thread you are looking for is here, not always easy to find old ones as the search can give too many options.
