I recedntly had two of those (?Chinese) petrol pumps fail on my 2CV.   I have fitted a British one instead.   Not so critical if it is only a priming pump of course but definitely the wrong side of the pressure regulator/filter.   Do you swotch it off when you are going?

Here we are - the mk.2 version, couple of longer pipes. Wired in as well, covered the red wire so it looks neater. With the new loom I had added a wire for the pump, so it fits in - I do have a "Facet Black" pump somewhere but can't find it so an inexpensive one has gone on 'til I do find it

Lots of fiddly stuff - rocker cover, distributor, coil, etc etc

Plus a new cable for the shutters. the old one was a bodge (it worked but wasn't pretty) so I have made up a new one using bicycle brake parts and a wire clamp made from an old UK plug, cut down and drilled for 2 wires

There should be a spring between the lever and the wire, but I've never had one

Lastly a picture of my new field ready for 250 olive trees - so in about 5 or 6 years we will be self-sufficient in olive oil .....

Concentrated on the back end because the Aprilia hasn't got her front wings on yet !

The Ardea is noticeably smaller

Had a bit of time this week to start on the dashboard

All the levers have been cleaned and painted, everything else has been prep'ed including cleaning thread on the mounting screws so that they are easier to fit because some are fiddly !

The glove box trim took a while because it needed to be fitted onto Dumdum putty. The mounting wires are soldered to the trim and due to the solder, leave the trim a bit proud. Then I made a new cloth trim for the back

The central switch has been wired up, having first checked all the circuits again .... not done any wiring for a while, so more a refresher than anything else, checking everything goes where it should !

The horn push on this car has been damaged over the years so there is a simple push switch just above the elegant claw-type steering lock. The dynamo/light/indicator repeaters are not standard, but they've been there for eons so I'll just wire them as they were

Couple of photos of the levers showing how to set the tension so the air flap stays open

Lots of detail - all of which takes time, however good step forward this week

David, it's a period steering lock ..... it came with the car in the 70's and I find quite fun, so I've kept it

Getting exciting ..... starting to test circuits

Fitted the foot pedal for switching the lights and the dynamo light before fitting selected fuses and then testing the circuit to see if does what it should. Hopefully a bit more tomorrow

Finally gratuitous nudge for the Aprilia floor pans that I had remade (at huge expense) so if you want any, please let me know
