Delta HF Turbo wheel sizes
« on: 17 November, 2022, 01:17:44 PM »
Hi to all

I have a question I’m hoping some knowledgeable person on here can answer for me!

I have a 1988 Delta HF ie Turbo, currently with standard 14” wheels. I am looking at possibly putting a set of the Integrale-type 15” on. I believe the usual route is to fit 15 x 6J…but I know of a set of 15 x 7J for sale at the moment.

Could someone please clarify whether 15 x 7J will fit on my 1600 HF or not? Will they either look silly and stick out beyond the arches or rub under load (or both!!)  or will they fit with no issues?

I have tried researching/Googling to no avail

Thanks

The offset matters as much as the width, are they the 16V integrale wheels?
There's loads of different info online that can explain offset in pictures better than I can write down, but imagine a line though the middle of the wheel and that is used to calculate where that is in relation to the hub face flange, the back of the wheel where it fits against the disc/hub.
You can then calculate how much wheel will stick inside towards the strut, and how much will stick out towards the wing.
I would imagine if they are the OE integrale ones they will be OK.
Simplest solution would be to trial fit someones...

Does that include the spare? As i doubt it would fit the spare wheel well.

Standard 8v integrale wheels (6x15) will fit on the Delta Turbo without catching the arches, the wider 16v integrale wheels (7x15) will catch the arches. The bigger wheels will also affect the steering as there is no PAS so it will be harder to turn at low speeds too.

I'm thinking of doing the same thing with my Delta HF turbo. I'm going to try some 15"x 6.5J wheels that they fitted to the MK 2 Deltas as I've heard that they'll fit.
