The final photo above shows work on the, ever so subtle, waistline crease that runs the length of the car. To my mind getting this straight and crisp is essential. Many cars lose this detail over the years, after multiple re-finishes, becoming more barrel sided.
When all this is done then spray filler, endless blocking, primer and, one day, paint. I am no longer holding my breath. I have revamped the garage with new floor and wall paint, more lighting and improved storage, as well as getting rid of more than half the previous contents.
Nearly everything needed to get the car back on its wheels has been restored, just the wheels and rear springs to be powder coated. I am now addressing other parts.
I have also engaged a trimmer - for August.... Too soon?
