Idler Air Control Valve...

Hi
my car has been at the garage for nearly 2 months now, has had electronic ignition fitted, a new fuel pump and the starter motor overhauled. Now, the chap tells me the "idler air control valve' is failing as it is sticking open...apparently this is the wax based (?) one .....are these still available, does anyone know?

I'm having problems with my 2000hf - seems to be overfuelling.
It runs for a couple of minutes and then stalls. Were these similar symptoms to your HF?
I've changed temp sensor etc. but can't cure the problem!

Yes, those were my sypmtoms....would run just fine then when it was warm would start cutting out...cool down...start again. My garage person said the fuel pump (which Omicron said was fine0 was in fact, not fine, so that was replaced as well. I now have a working (hopefully) air idle control valve which is getting fitted next week. You can experience and relive the symptoms on my YT channel as I was out and about in the car when things started to go wrong!

Sorry, I did not pick up your reply until today.
My issue turned out to be the NTC2 sensor for the fuel injection.
The sensor was faulty and was telling the ECU that the engine temperature was less than 0 deg C so overfuelling.
The car would start every morning (when cold) but would eventually stall (increasingly quickly) because of the overfuelling.

As it happens I also think that me Aux Air Valve is a bit sticky so I will replace it too.

Is your HF all ok now?

FYI - attached is photo of the NTC2 Sensor
