1971 Flavia 820 Duplex brakes
« on: 26 October, 2025, 07:23:27 PM »
I’m having a look at the braking system and I’m trying to locate the components I see on Tav 40A with what I see  in the car. I can’t locate the inertia operated limiting device in the engine bay where the TAV indicates it could be. The car is a late model and I have noticed that the engine bay layout is similar to the later 2000 series.

Is it possible the location of the limiting device has moved or possibly the device has been removed in a later modification?

Any views or opinions would be welcome.

That limiter is low down on the RH side of the underbody at floor level. Visible from underneath. Follow the hydraulic tube that feeds the back brakes. If you come across a joining piece in the tube, the device has been removed/not fitted.
My earlier Flavia 2000 didn't have the limiter but my now later one does.
