We have now changed to meeting on the third Wednesday of alternate months starting on May 20th, next week. The venue may be different every time, so please contact me to find out where before arriving. This month, we are going to meet at the Control Tower on Greenham Common at about 11.00am on Wednesday 20th May.
It is not a formal sit down meal event but a flexible get-together with our own parking area, good for photos from the top of the control tower.
There is a café which can provide coffee and lunch snacks and we can have either an organised tour of the Tower or just do your own thing.
Greenham Common is great for dog walking if you have a pooch to bring.
After, we can drive round to see the old Cruise missile bunkers, which have recently been used for Star Wars filming.
Also there is a commemorative site where the Peace Women camped if you are interested.
If you are coming, please let me know, just so I have an idea of numbers to warn the café.
The address is - Burys Bank Road, RG19 8BZ, about half way along on the road between the Newbury Retail Park and Crookham Common, south of Thatcham
