Inner CV Joint throwing out grease
« on: 17 May, 2026, 07:12:54 PM »
I spent this weekend mopping up a lot of CV Jont lithium grease around my engine bay.

At first, I thought the grease was dropping from my Steering Idler Box onto the NS inner CV joint and getting flung off the CVJ as it spun, but there's too much grease thrown out, and it's the grey stuff that I pack my CV's with.

I do recall when I last packed my CV joint that the aluminium cover that sits over the rubber boot was not clamping as tightly onto the rubber boot as I felt it should, but I didn't think it would be possible for grease to work its way out past the boot overlap.

Has anyone else had this issue with their Flavia 1800 inner CV joint boots, and if so, what did you use to get a tight seal between the rubber boot and the CV joint?
