Downpipe nut

The exhaust downpipe nut on my V!!th keeps coming loose.   It is a good nut that I had made many years ago and has a good thread and a copper/"asbestos" ring gasket in it.   Is there a cunning plan to stop this?   Will threadlock survive the heat perhaps?
