William, that is an excellent report you wrote. It uncovered the major problem of that car, a badly done coverup job, to hide all the defects on the body. There is in my view no alternative for any purchase, to a good, well documented inspection done by one or two specialists (body and mechanics)! Anything else is a gamble, and it can involve a lot of money! Still, that type of gamble is to me more fun than a visit at a casino!
Appiaman, congratulations on having made the deal, and having saved another berlina. They are such nice cars to use, and with the fitted B20 S2 motor you will have a lot of pleasure. Driving those early berlinas with the IRS is a completely different experience from driving a B12 with the later De Dion rear suspension!
I would love seing some pictures of the interior, which no doubt you must have had redone completely!
