Brian and Simon,

That's great information. Fits nicely in with my car which was first registered on 31 January 1970 in Rome.

Good stuff. All ties in nicely so at least I don't own some weird fake! Still surprised by the cast rear suspension brackets though. I was led to believe this was a leftover from the Series 1 and a number of Series 2's had them until they ran out. I imagined a few hundred, not 15,000 and who knows how many after that? Now we need to find the highest chassis number with castings to find out when they did run out!

Brian, very useful, where did Simon get those pages?  I have never seen anything like that, I had asked Tim to help me a few years ago and he couldn't obtain any details from Turin.

Hi All

Looking through the later year ones, it has three lines of Beta production, is there any more information available for the Betas?

Thanks

Neil,
I did ask Simon where they came from but he's had them so long he's forgotten ::)
Peter.
Sorry as I understand it this is the sum total of what Simon has.

Having spent many years involved with engineering changes to vehicles at Vauxhalls, I think it's very unlikely we'll ever find anything regarding the changeover point, the only possibility is if those who know they have the cast rear suspension brackets fitted to their series 2's, post their chassis number details, and compare them that way.

The TAVs say (TAV 56A) that the change was made from chassis 21499 (coupes).

Thanks Neil,
I'd forgotten that the TAV's showed that information.
so it looks like there were nearly another 6,000 fitted with them after Stanley's Fulvia.

Brian, Thanks for the update, shame it would have made interesting reading as for the Fulvia folk.

Just catching up on this. Thanks for the information - now I know after 20 years! They almost made it to a nice round number of 21500, then looked in the box....................d'oh!

This Lancia production information was gathered together in the last couple of years and put on the viva-Lancia.com website:

I passed the 5 pages listed above to Viva-Lancia a couple of years ago, I also copied it to Tim Speechley at Fiat UK who in turn passed it on to Fiat/Lancia as they didn't have this information either.
do you know the origin of the other pages? I note that you were the author of some of them?

All the data is from Lancia originally: D.COM/AST was the Department containing the Technical Assistance Service [see page 33 of Geoff Goldberg's new book].
The route of the pages to those that had them is probably uncertain.  Some of the pages may have been obtained from the Biscaretti Museum archives.  The page I wrote up has its sources noted on the page, but again the data will probably have come from various individuals visiting Turin.
There is a very interesting list of chassis numbers for the early cars, which I can contribute, again I think from the Biscaretti, but it does not belong on this thread.

Thank you Paul,
Does make me wonder though if this information was held in the Biscaretti why Lancia over the years has said that it was unavailable when queried for manufacture dates?
