Hi all
Managed to trap the car trimmer in his lair and he had somethings to show me. He had a door card done that just needs a bit of piping and he also had the seat back grab handle that he was thinking of recovering with vinyl. In the end he decided to try plastic paint and I think when he has matched up the colour to the blue of the vinyl trim and piping we will be a step further along. Picture shows the not quite finished doorcard.

Hi all
Visited the trimmer and he had made some progress, the door pocket is now sewn in and elasticated so it snaps back into place when you let go of the vinyl tab...still some way to go.

Have not been to see the trimmer as he will just get the same doorcard out again. The Appia has moved up to 2nd place in the queue (Terry is itching to start welding) as I am determined to get the Y10 mechanics done before Christmas. We shall see as I am pencilled in to be under a Honda Civic tomorrow hopefully it will only be visiting for the day.

I might visit the trimmer in the New Year and see if I can get all the trim back and do a mock up of the new interior...

Whisper it but I have been told to expect some seat backs and door cards by Friday. The poor S1 has had to take a back seat to it's big brother and little brother but over the next few weeks I hope to make progress on all 3!

He lied...any way I put the backseats in and I am thinking of a pale grey/blue for the paint as that will match the seats.

I really do not think a paint to match the interior is the best option. Too much of the same. The interior is so good that you need  a paint that will accentuate the interior, not blend in with it. Lancia do a lovely dark blue. I don't know what it is called but it resembles a navy blue.
Whats the opinion?

I think I'm with you on that, Lancia Blue would set the seats off nicely.

Hi all'
Amazing after I read the riot act to the trimmer he has produced some more parts of the trim, he is now saying two more weeks to finish the door cards and the seat backs, I will send Terry round to lean on him.

Had a play with some of the new trim...the rear parcel shelf cover is rather fetching and the new sunvisors are good as well but they do show how tired the other bits of trim are in the back of the car.

Hi all
Went to see the trimmer and surprise, surprise he had not done any more work...I have no front seat backs and was going to sort the front brakes out and give the old girl a cruise round the car park now the Y10 is back out side and we can manoeuvre the Appia in and out easier. Still waiting on a full exhaust from our friends in Norfolk so sometime over the summer we should see the Appia go out on the track (the road round the units it is about 300yds long, has a few right handers and a couple of chicanes) The Y10 can claim a burst in 3rd gear down the back straight near the bin store if you can dodge the potholes at the corner, so the Appia might beat that being lower geared.
