Hi Clarkey

For me the individual ones look pretty awful and a definite bodge.

I actually like the look yours Mike

Just sourced another mini rear lamp in total the 2 cost £28 plus postage so not too bad...out with the Dremel tomorrow.

When I was looking at changing my lamps, the minivan ones were going to be well into three figures for a second-hand pair, so you've done well there! Mine are 'all right', but they have a very square profile with sharp edges which jars with the rounded lines of the car... but it was only a passing fancy, they'll stay for now.

What a marvellous device a Dremmel is plus the wing is aluminium so easy to cut

A bit of work to do seating the lamp to the wing but I sourced a set of new gaskets so should be able to get a good fit.

Bit of rewiring and I'll get the other one in 😊 the new lamp is an improvement on the boxy one and not as bright with no slot to light up a number plate as they were designed for a trailer board.

Very nice, and I imagine very satisfying.

Bit scary cutting chunks out of the wings... Surprised at how thick the metal is. And now we have 2 but looks like the brake light switch is on the fritz and the gaskets need a bit of trimming to make the fit better.

Brake lights working as well as the indicator switch (it wasn't locking as the elves had been playing with screwdrivers and disconnected a wire) Will swap out the front indicator lights for some Morris Minor ones as my original ones are shot.

And here they are...bit of rewiring and hole cutting to do but much easier than the back ones as the panel is flat. I have some new gaskets and seals on order so will soon be up and running with an orange indicator light separate from a white sidelight.

Well impressed with the replacement gaskets as they are very good quality...question is where do you out the clear gasket? in front of the sponge one or behind? The thick rubber one goes between the rear of the lamp and the panel.

The picture shows the slot cut to accept the bigger lamp...

And here is the finished look the round lamps fit in with the car's lines better than a square one I looked at (ex Mk1 Escort/Hillman Minx I think).
