All on hold at the moment as the virus thing is putting me off doing the 40 minute drive...I keep expecting the rozzers to feel my collar!

Hi all
Managed to run the blockade and have a day in the stores as lots of people are after lots of spares at the moment...Also managed a bit of joinery as I am trying to utilize the vast amount of space in the unit so some of that big pile of timber has been changed into see below

Had a good day at the joinering my mate Terry will go bonkers as he believes in measuring everything and uses something called a spirit level???
If I get chance I will have another day to try and finish it off tomorrow.

On measuring and spirit levels "done beats perfect".  Certainly looks good from this distance.

Hi Clarkey

Maybe a bit of a grey area, but given you are fulfilling orders as part of the day, that surely classes as work, and given you are on your own, keeping well within the social distancing rule as well?

A number of folk who work in my part of the computer industry supplying second hand parts are working normally, albeit they are usually on their own or have their admin staff working from home.

Hi all
The elves have been busy again see pics...re the work/travel thing it seems the police have relaxed a bit and I am keeping to the rules regarding working practices so I am not so concerned as I was. On the spares front I had an email from Cavallito this morning so life seems to be getting back to normal in Italy.

Finishing touches will include a guard rail as an 8ft fall onto a concrete floor is not something to look forward to. I'm quite pleased that I've managed to not cut/strain/set the hernia off/blacken a nail/or poke an eye out today despite a few scary moments manhandling the 8 x 4 sheets around. The sheets are a bit bouncy and Terry my mate did suggest going up to 11mm but they would have been dangerously heavy to lift up on my own so I'm glad the 9mm thick boards won the day. A couple of bracing struts will see the job right

The plan is all the heavy oily stuff gearboxes, backaxles etc will be homed on the bonny blue BigDug shelving and the smaller spares will be on the upper floor. Hmmm... we shall see.
Off for a stiff drink!

Guard rail sort of finished ran out of timber screws and inspiration...next job is to dismantle the shelving left by a previous occupant and link up the new level to the space above the office rooms at the back of the unit.

nearly there...opened up into and tidied up the above the office bit and have railed/boarded off a route down to the concrete floor so should be safer. Also removed all my junk that had accumulated and can now see how much space is available on the ground floor for all the heavy oily stuff. In a final burst of energy I moved a set of the old parts bins and humped the plastic shelving up onto the new level. This leaves ample space to walk past and I will only have the shelves 5 high so even safer. I estimate 8 or 9 sets of shelves on the new level still leaving about 200 sq ft for body panels etc.
