The PF Coupe is slightly smaller than a Jaguar Mk2 according to dimensions which I have seen published.

I am hoping that some kind member with a PF coupe is able to help me. I am in debate with my bodyshop over some details of the bodyshell, which they want to charge me a lot of money to make perfect, and I think are fine, and might even be original.
The first is the spare wheel tub which has a crudely welded cover over the drain hole underneath, as per the first photo. The welding looks a lot like pininfarina standard to me, although I guess this part is shared with all models.
The second is the front inner wheel housings. Both of mine have been hammered from underneath in a crude fashion, in the same area. This is directly under the heater air inlets that fit behind the grille - see second photo, taken through headlamp opening. Is this how pininfarina "adjusted" the air inlet to grille fit, assuming the wheel housings are Lancia made and the coupe grille is slightly different to the berlina.

If anybody is able to take a quick look at these areas on their cars and let me know what they see I would be very grateful.

Hello all,
I have been working on my gearbox today, thinking I would just clean it up and asses it's condition once installed in the car. What I found was that there is 0.5mm end float on the right hand side output shaft. Does anybody know why this might have occurred?

Also, is it necessary to balance a clutch that is re-assembled using the same pressure plate?

Sounds a bit excessive, maybe worth splitting it and having a look, I rebuilt my Flaminia gearbox as one of the half-shafts sheared, a common fault which isn’t helped with sticking brakes and servo.  It’s a lovely bit of kit to work on, although after speaking to experts, the backlash is a lot tighter than comparable gearboxes of the time. I can dig out my notes/pictures, if required, although they maybe in an old thread.

I may well need your advice on gearbox rebuilding at some point.

For the time being it looks like I will not need to open it up. The outer bearing on the output shaft was floating in its housing, i.e. the lock ring had not been screwed in fully, or had unscrewed. I will replace the bearing and the inner seal as a matter of course, but otherwise all sems good.

I also want to replace the clutch shaft bearings but am stuck at the moment because the shaft won't budge and it is too big for my press.

A few images from the ongoing work -

The gearbox is cleaned up and seals replaced where necessary. Inner universal joints have been re-built and new boots fitted.
The clutch has been dismantled and new bearings fitted. I sent the pressure plate to Clutchfix in Cleckheaton (http://clutch-fix.co.uk/) who re-built it and also supplied a suitable driven plate at a very reasonable price. I found a suitable release bearing on ebay for only £16.97 delivered! - a search for 45TNK20 will find it.

The clutch will be despatched to Vibration Free shortly for them to balance it.

The front suspension parts are being cleaned up and painted, and are eventually making their way back onto the subframe.
I 3D printed some ball joint dust boots in TPU, which is incredibly tough stuff and looks like it may well be up to the job. I will refine the design a little and then assemble with some of these - worth a try.

Meanwhile the bodyshell is with Retroclassic engineering in Gloucester and requiring a little more attention than I had hoped. This is nearly complete and it will soon be into paint. At the moment I am expecting it back in October, which is 2 years after I bought it, and when I had hoped to have the car on the road. Oh well.

No point doing half a job and having to revisit in a few years! Sometimes it's the little bits that hold you up longer than expected. I'm getting on for three years into a Beta Coupe rebuild. Makes absolutely zero sense financially but the pleasure it's giving me is priceless!

Always good to welcome another Flaminia PF Coupe.  I have owned mine (2.8 3B) since 2013.  Built April 1964, first registered in Monaco January 1967.  Imported here 2010.
I have some information on the Solex 3B if you (or any other owner) for that matter) need it.  I have had a bottom half respray after some bodywork repairs and used a Honda colour which matches the original top half Lancia paint very well. It was given a 1967 reg in 2010 in line with first date of registration, but DVLA re-registered it as 1964 when I provided evidence form the Club. 
I have replaced the wheels with 16 inch rims on original wheel centres which allow 185 x 16 tyres.  The original 175 x 400 tyres are hard to find and look too narrow, and the 165s on which it came to me look worse

The info on the 3B carb would be useful as would the info on who did your wheels as the original sized tyres seem an expensive option if available.
