Lancia 'old or dark blue'
« on: 23 July, 2025, 08:55:21 AM »
Hi, I am hoping to identify a specific colour I need for my Fulvia rebuild.
I appreciate this will be a non standard colour for a series 1 Fulvia Coupe, but after 8 years of work, from bare metal, I hope its acceptable to deviate in this way!
At the Nationals I saw a beautiful Aurelia with registration number UVS 640 - in what I would call the classic Lancia dark blue solid colour.
I have researched online - it would seem to be Blu Scuro?
Can anyone advise if this is correct and a paint code? -  I have tried Lechler 1195 at my local paint supplier but without luck.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the input so far - I was hoping that the owner of UVS640 might be able to advise?

I have an Aurelia in Blu Scuro. Not the same. There are quite a few Lancia dark blues and to complicate things many body shops respray with their own systems that are subtly not a 100% match to the original cellulose paint of the day.

There is a Fulvia Lancia Blue.... LAN216 Lechler 1332 or 121L
Its not the winning but taking part! or is it taking apart?

1967 Fulvia 1.3HFR
1972 Fulvia 1600HF
1972 Fulvia Sport 1600

1988 Delta 1.6GTie

Another option would be the Lancia Blue of my Beta Coupe which you might have seen too at Northampton.

In my period paint lists for Aurelias, the following dark blues are listed
Aurelia B20 S1/S2       Blu scuro Lechler code 1179
Aurelia B20 S3/S4/S5  Blu scuro Lechler code 8015
                                 Blu         Lechler code 1179

And then
Flaminia Coupe 'Blu Lancia' Lechler code 1332

And another Lancia headed Factory sheet from the 1960's confirms confirms Lechler Code 1179 for Blu Scuro for S!/S2 B20

Hope this helps.

Only a small proportion of members use the forum, am sure someone knows who owns it.

Hard to tell between Bleu or bleu scuro!

I have asked the owner of UVS, he thinks he might have a tin of the colour. He will let me know.

If Ade knows the owner who can determine from the actual paint tin used then that's not going to be trumped!  8)

However in the interim you might be interested in this old thread: https://forum.lanciamc.co.uk/index.php?topic=7021.0

Page 2 is probably most interesting for you where there's not only a picture of a Fulvia in the lovely Jamaica Blue but mention of a Dunkelblau (Dark Blue) with code LAN-216.
