Classifieds listings on LMC website

Hi All

Part of the new website includes a Classifieds ads section which personally I had not really taken note of and do not regularly visit. It also does not have a notification to members of a new listing etc as far as I know.

The forum however has a well trodden path for offering parts and the posts are easily seen by the unread mechanism.

I therefore thought it would be useful to have any new listings on the website have a notification posted on the forum under the appropriate section. So after a few days of playing and testing I have something working which I am going to start over the next day or so. It will hopefully go reasonably reliably, but please be a patient if you see odd postings!

The postings will simply have a subject line from the listing and a link to the Classifieds section so you can get to the listing easily.

Hi

After a false start, I have now listed the (most recent) items on the website. Some go back a fair time, so may be not available any longer or no longer wanted, though we have tried to establish either way.

The forum should update by checking each day if anything new has been listed.

One point is that on the website there are 6 categories, cars for sale, cars wanted, parts for sale, parts wanted, miscellaneous and services. On the forum we have just the car and parts options, so have put misc and services in the parts for sale section. If anyone feels that needs changing get in touch.

Not such a fan of this part of the upgrade Peter. It takes me to a different page but am I missing something - no more comments visible?

Thank you for the link to the adverts - I must admit that I never used the "Classifieds" on the LMC site, so this was a great help.

Do you intend to carry on with the links , or is it mainly to open our eyes to the LMC page ?

I hope it's the former case because it is an ongoing reminder to look at the site !

I run a scan of them each morning now and new entries ‘should’ get listed here on the forum automatically. I did create a test one and it was listed here, though I did delete both after testing so you will probably not have seen it
