Aprilia Book - Registro Aprilia
« on: 17 November, 2025, 09:05:53 AM »
There is a huge new tome written by the president of the Registro - translation of the intro page below. I think that it is printed to order (??) and costs 150€

Has anyone bought/seen a copy ? Be interested to hear any comments, Thanks

"Our founder and Honorary President, Luciano Frascino, has realized, after years of meticulous research and in-depth work, a complete volume dedicated to our beloved Lancia Aprilia.

The book, in a valuable edition and composed of about 560 pages, collects data, historical information, techniques and documents of great value.
It is available on request: to obtain it, simply send an email to the Registry, which will provide all the information for the purchase.

We believe that this volume represents an essential reference for anyone who wishes to acquire, restore or maintain an Aprilia, thanks to the vast amount of accurate and verified content that it contains.

For orders we invite you to send an email: to info@registroaprilia.it"

I believe the club has just bought a copy for the club library.
Its not the winning but taking part! or is it taking apart?

Following several communications, I have now ordered the book. Looking forward to adding this to my shelf, as I particularly enjoy privately published books. Anyone else ordered?

I understand that my copy is in the post. My wife bought it as a Christmas present for me, so I will not be allowed to open it until Christmas Day.

Mine is en route as well - not a Christmas present, but I don't think that it will arrive before we leave for Christmas - so I'll have to wait as well

I'm not good at waiting ....

As a slight aside - I looked up the meaning of the Latin "Vade Mecum" , the name of the new Aprilia book, this what I found:

Vade mecum (Latin for "go with me") has long been used of manuals or guidebooks sufficiently compact to be carried in a deep pocket, and it would sometimes appear in the title of such works, as with one of the earliest known uses of the phrase in the title of the 1629 volume Vade Mecum: A Manuall of Essayes Morrall, Theologicall. From the beginning, it has also been used for constant companions that are carried about by a person, such as gold, medications, and memorized gems of wisdom. But these days, vade mecum is primarily encountered in reference to works which are intended to serve as one-stop references or guides to a particular subject, whether or not such a work can actually be carried in one's pocket (a moot distinction, perhaps, in an age when such works can easily reside in a smartphone's memory).

I can say that you would need a very big pocket for this "one-stop reference" book !

Anyone else's arrived? Postal service not so good around here it seems, and I am not so sure my follow up emails requesting 'acknowledgement of order' are reaching their intended recipient. Maybe automatically junked or otherwise filtered . Should be an excellent addition to my modest Lancia bookshelf when it arrives though. The effort required in these low volume publications is generally much appreciated here, as are the efforts of our lovely post and courier people.
