Window lickers
« on: 01 February, 2026, 04:20:23 PM »
Whilst I find some of the delicate fasteners used by Lancia to be part of the overall charm of the marque there are times when they can be quite frustrating and fiddly. Having decided to renew the window scrapers (listed as window lickers on Pieces Fulvia website!) I had a look at the tiny No2 self tappers supplied with them and decided these tiny fasteners were a potential source of mischief, either now or sometime in the future. Also, I don't like the idea of the screws protruding into the void within the stainless trim which seats itself on top of the door. They foul the door as the trim is pressed into place and can't really see how that's ever going to be a good idea.
As an alternative bin the No2 self tappers and use a thin bead of Tiger Seal instead.  Just run the bead along the inner edge of the stainless trim and then position the licker and hold it in place with some small bulldog clips, the Tiger Seal is both a sealant and an adhesive and remains slightly elastic making it perfect for this kind of job
You're all entitled to my opinion.
