Trial venue for June's Brizzle meeting
« on: 20 May, 2010, 11:02:40 PM »
We've been meeting at our current venue for about 70 years, and although consistency can be a virtue, we thought it's time to dip our toes in the water and try somewhere new.

For June we're going to meet at The Bull in Hinton, which is about a mile and a half south of J18 on the M4. The website is www.thebullathinton.co.uk and includes directions.

It's already hosting a number of car club meetings, and has a private room out the back ("The Pantry") which means we can spread out, re-arrange the furniture, and all sit together. The pub's listed in The Good Pub Guide 2010, too.  8)

I'll bring maps to the May meeting at The Compass (26th May - don't forget) for those not on the forum. Otherwise, please join us at The Bull on 23rd June.

Good move that Harvey, I attended the Bristol meets at the Compass from about 1994 up until I left the area in 2001, but I've never been overly impressed with it, yes, It's convenient to the M4, yes, it has a decent car park, and the little back bar was convenient, but I never found it that friendly, and as I used to travel up straight from work in Cardiff, I often used to eat there as well, and while the food was good, the prices weren't!

Good luck with the move.

I've already left some rear differential oil in the Bull's carpark already to mark our territory ..... :)

IF you talk about football, I will put my  "interesting fact" anorak on for the evening, and tell you all about the intimate workings of the Hoover 1124a "Convertible".

I suggest in the inerest of world peace, we just stick to Lancia talk!

See you later!

Just to remind you that I didn't talk about football but YOU did tell us some "interesting" facts about Basil ...

BTW Basil was a little naughty and left some deposits on the carpark. Not a lot , just a few drips.

All in all though a very pleasant evening with some nice pictures. I'll put them up at lunchtime.

It was Douglas I think you will find. Basil was safely tucked up at home!

Yes - Douglas is suffering from a little incontinence at the moment. Coming from the back cam-box lower gasket. Another over-the-winter job I fear.

Great new venue last night - and an excellent selection of cars. Looking forward to seeing the pics later
