Flavia Coupe
« on: 14 February, 2012, 11:03:39 PM »
I have been looking for a nice Flavia/2000 for ages, and now it seems I have finally found a car that fits the bill.
I am going over to Turin this sunday to view/buy a 1963 Flavia Coupe, and if all is well, drive it home over the following week.

Congratulations and Good Luck, I hope you have a better weather on the run home than Paul did with the Thesis.

Did you consider the recent half price blue Coupe? The buyer at £7500 got the bargain of the year!

Just got back today from Italy, where I bought the 1963 1500 Coupe that has had a Nardi conversion from new (variante 1005).

The car came from an elderly gentlemans collection. and drove home from just north of Venice (1000 miles ) without a problem.

Its really stunning, and just needs a few jobs doing to make perfect, the worst of which is a noisy gearbox, so if anyone has a 4 speed box to fit a 63 coupe, then please let me know.

Bob

I might be able to assist with the gearbox as I bought a gearbox for an 815-300 for my car when one came up "locally".

I'm in Ayr in Scotland though so you'll probably be able to get one nearer to you.

Angle grinder,

Thanks for your reply, I know we are a fair way away from each other, but how much would you want for your gearbox, and is it all good with regard to syncro and noise.

Well the problem is that I've never heard the gearbox running in a car. I bought it from a fellow consortium member who told me it was good, but I don't think he had ever heard it fitted on a car either.

The diff spins freely without any noise, but that's really all that I can say.

I paid £200 for it, but the Flavia consortium (you really ought to join for £40 p.a.) can maybe offer you cheaper once delivery charges are factored in.
